monkey 5 pence????? Help?

My friend claims he had a 5 pence with a monkey on it (on the tails side) is there such a thing? Has he got confused with foreign money? And does anyone have a picture of it? Or is he just lying?

What you have is a current type Gibraltar 5 pence. Yes, Gibraltar issues its own coins and banknotes. The monkey portrayed on the coin is the only species of monkey native to Europe. The link below has photos of all Gibraltar coins.
