to me it means spending time with all your loved ones by carving pumpkins and watching horror movies and dressing up in silly costumes.

Halloween coincides with Samhain, which is the Wiccan New Year. It is a celebration of the last harvest of the year. It is also a time to remember those who have passed, and with every death comes rebirth. But this is not all about solemnity. It is also about remembering to have fun. I dress up every year, even if I go nowhere but work. It's like being a kid again, in a way. It's a celebration of life and fun. And it happens to be my favorite holiday! =)
