If I am drinking a martini then I want absolutely the best vodka I can find but to pour a $30 super-premium vodka into a Bloody Mary is pure extravagance.
But what is the "best" vodka?
Tasting my way through dozens of super-premiums it became obvious that there were subtle but real differences between the brands, differences that are quite discernable if you drink them on the rocks or in a martini but get lost as soon as you start mixing up a cocktail.
My all time favorite Martini Vodka is Belvedere and it's about $ 32.00 a bottle .... please try it and tell me what you think :)

Smirnoff, Stoly; Absolut . Finnish Vodka I believe has the highest alcoholic content. What a Buzz you get on it; Essentially, all Vodka is made from the same ingredients and is the same except for alcoholic content.
