My friend got the sims 2 a couple of days ago right, so i get home and load all four disk and ever thing go's though fine. The Icon and read me notes comes up and everthing, But when i try to load it and play it the screen with the sims 2 on it but the game stops there, whats wrong with it and i know it's not my computer because its brand new. I also though that i might need to up grade the video card but i really dont see what that has to do with it. Let me know what you think. Is it another way i can open it or somthing?

The computer is brand new as in it has Windows Vista? Sims 2 isn't really compatible with Vista at this time, so that could be the cause of it. Otherwise, try updating your video drivers and closing all background applications.

how much memory does the computer have? what kind of video card does it have? can you run any other games without problems? double check the system requirements on the box to make sure your computer can handle the game.. Sims 2 doesn't have extremely high system requirements, but it does have some..

Uninstall it and reload all the discs - it may have had a glitch when loading.
