For what purpose? In a typical home network I would recommend 100 Base-T (Cat-5) or 1000 Base-T (Cat-6) cable.

100 Mbit networks work fine for most purposes like file transfers, shared internet, etc.

1000 Mbit networks are recommended if you are transferring large files (e.g. video streams, etc.) However, you need to make sure your network (NIC) cards support those speeds otherwise the cabling is overkill.

If it were me, I would probably put in the highest speed wiring for "future proofing". You don't want to be crawling through the attic and making holes in the walls a second time to upgrade to different cabling.
