Keep nursing it will protect your son.

Use caution when taking menthol containing products (such as cough drops) as they can reduce supply. It is really only a concern in very large quantities or women who normally have problems making enough milk.

Decongestants can also reduce your supply.

You should definitely continue breastfeeding if you get sick. Your son is less likely to get sick if you are breastfeeding. When you are sick your body will be developing immunities to the germs and you will pass the immunity on to your baby. I don't remember what is safe to take while breastfeeding. You can ask your doctor, or if he gave you a list when you were pregnant, you can take something on the list. If it is safe when you are pregnant it is safe when breastfeeding. My favorite thing for a sore throat is to drink hot herbal tea.

He's much less likely to catch what you've got, if you're breastfeeding. Your antibodies will travel in the milk to him.

So just keep nursing as usual, while you're sick.

I'd take basically any OTC relief, like ibuprofen, or sucrets drops.

Keep nursing... your baby won't catch what you have. Load up on vitamin C.. and it's okay to take Airborne also. My trick to warding off a bug is to buy some frozen OJ in a can and eat it with a spoon. It works!
