I have migraines and no one will insure me or employee me and this is excluded as a preexisting condition by insurance(my biggest expense). The medicine caused me to loose my house and no insurance will cover me now.

I fear tis will happen to anyone diagnosed with AIDS.

No one has protected me and my family from this discrimination and if HIV testing becomes mandatory for all these people will have no choice but to commit crime to get put in prison to get health care.

I wish I could believe that. The facts are that 2 months after my husband 1st heart surgery the entire family lost health, life, prescription, dental, insurance. I do wish I could go back to the days when I believed what you believe.

We are lucky to live in a society where Aids and HiV drugs are available at low cost.

I think mandatory HIV testing is a good thing though, as so many people with the disease do not know they have it.

I'm sorry that they won't help you with your expensive medications! That's awful...
I wish we lived in a country with nationwide healthcare like every other leading country in the world.

But Americans are so greedy and afraid of taxes that they're not willing to evenly distribute the burden of healthcare on everyone's shoulders..... Until its their problem too.

There are probably a lot of lobbyist groups for people with AIDS. If testing becomes mandatory, then, if there already aren't, be laws put into place to protect AIDS patients from the type of discrimination you are experiencing.

Its not going to happen. In Illinois they started making HIV tests mandatory for people applying for a marraige license. It was struck down in the courts and now you dont have to have any kind of blood test done.

Health insurance is pretty simple in America.

You purchase health insurance and maintain it. You will be covered. If you maintain continuous coverage - you cannot be denied for preexisting conditions.

If you have migraines that are disabling, then you can apply for SSI and Medicaid, but you will have to give up your assets to get onto Medicaid.
