They are not anti gay per se but do not allow gay members. Their motto has the quote "be morally straight" of which has been taken to mean not gay. Yes, it is true they do not allow gay leaders. I was in their organization some 35 years ago and left due to their self rightous and snobbish attitudes. Personaly I belive that they are homophobic to a degree otherwise they would not care if they had gay leaders or members. It is notable though, that when they first started out, African Americans were not allowed to join. So much for thier "Christian values" more like values of racism, discrimination, intolerence and hypocrasy.

It's not that they're against homosexual boys belonging, they're just adamant about not having homosexual scout masters, for the traditional (if misinformed) reasons. They're also anti-atheist, and that does include members themselves. There are news stories all over the Net about both restrictions and resulting law suits.
There don't seem to be any revelations about homosexual liaisons among scouts at Jamborees and camp-outs other that some incidents described in Shere Hite's book, "The Hite Report on Men and Male Sexuality," but I'm sure such activities are not limited to Band Camp or Soccer Camp.

Yes it is. The boyscouts were originally founded by religious organizations and groups for Christian kids similar to the YMCA.
And we all know how religious folks feel about gay folks.

They won't let anyone in (kids or leaders) who are openly gay. The Boy Scouts are a religious based, private club and have won court cases to bar gays from participating.

I believe BSA recently decided to not allow gay troop leaders. This is of course ridiculous, because straight men are 11 x more likely to be pedophiles.

They don't permit openly gay members. They're a private organization, so that should be their right. Just as it is folk's right to disapprove of them, withhold funds, etc. if they disagree with the policy.

Yes, they're christian. I was in the boy scouts for a few years, and got the hell out of there as fast as I could. Intolerant pricks.
