Yes, I hate Winter, the cold is not my bag. I do not like the continueous foggy days. or the windy days. Rain is ok. But I need the sun. I kind of hibernate during the winter, like a bear.

I had a co worker years ago that would go down down when winter rolled around. He was impossible to deal with. I have a dear friend that is a geologist and he suffers from it also. I told him to put plant lights around his house and he has done an about face in the winter doldrums from the lack of light--I don't like gloom and doom days either and turn all the lights up bright. It is a real syndrome.

Yes. I think we are all affected by lack of sunlight to some degree. I have a friend who move from Seattle to Hawaii. She said she can still feel the shift of seasons, but it is much better not to live under the northern cloud cover.

Yes I do. Used to work in warehouses with no windows and that was the worst for me. Now we have windows but when there is no sun for days on end you can see the difference in people you know. I need the sun and often wonder why I still live up in the frigid north.

I used to get it worse than I do now. I'm learning to enjoy winter time more as I get older. I still don't like being in a dark house, unless I'm sleeping. I keep the door open anytime I can or turn on the light.

There was an episode on "Northern Exposure" years ago that dealt with this syndrome...it was funny, but it was real. ONe of the characters was grumpy, depressed, then appeared with this light device on his head..he became all but giddy, very funny episode. This phenominon has been known for many , many years. People who live in northern climates are much more susceptable to this, Alaskans are particularly vulnerable. Phil

Yes, quite frequently. I did not log on to your link but I am guessing you are referring to Seasonal Disorders. My daughter has to have a lot of light in her home to keep her from becoming to affected by this.

Yes, and it doesn't matter that I moved to the warmer south in this respect. The days are just too short......in fact, it's going to start getting dark in just a couple hours and I don't like it at all!

i got SAD before anyone knew what it was !!
i have suffered with depression all of my adult life - maybe even longer and always noticed that it got worse in the winter.
it's not fun to live with and the light therapy boxes that they recommend are WAY out of my price range
hate having to take meds all the time then increasing dose for winter then decreasing for summer

Call me odd, but I like the gloomy weather. You're probably thinking I'm a gloomy person, but I'm not. I'm a very upbeat person, that likes clouds, cooler weather, rain, thunder. It makes me feel alive. I wonder how many of us there are.
By the way, I also like spring....
