Can anyone not boil an egg?

Step One Place the egg in a saucepan.

Step Two Click to enlargeRun cold water into the saucepan until the water is 1 inch above the egg.

Step Three Place the saucepan on a stove and cook over medium heat until the water begins to boil.

Step Four Reduce the heat to low.

Step Five Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes for soft-boiled eggs or 10 to 15 minutes for hard-boiled eggs.

Step Six Remove the egg with a spoon or ladle and let it cool slowly, or run cold water over it to cool it more quickly.

I can hard boil and egg but never get the time right for soft boiling eggs

I love hard boiled eggs!

The trick is start with cold water, bring it to a boil and then remove from the heat and cover for 12 minutes. After that take them out and place them in a ice water bath until you are ready to peal. My grandma taught me this and it works perfect everytime, no dark yolks at my house.

Yes the cook at the Chatham County N.C. Jail..Don't get locked up there....Boiled egg and dry toast 5 days a week. You cook till the water is gone right !!!!!!!

A chicken would not be able to boil an egg, I would have to assume that it would be too traumatizing.
