Bluetooth is an industrial specification for wireless personal area networks (PANs). Bluetooth provides a way to connect and exchange information between devices such as mobile phones, laptops, PCs, printers, digital cameras, and video game consoles over a secure, globally unlicensed short-range radio frequency.
Most common is a BLUE TOOTH wireless head-sets.

I believe Bluetooth is that little piece that comes with your cell phone and that you attach to your ear. (NOT an earphone) Don't know how it works. Just know that many times I've answered to people using them: they are wireless, so you can't see them -if they are wearing them on the ear you can't see-. Hahaha!

Here's a link that better answers your question. It also has a picture of the "thingie" that you attach to your ear.

it can be used with a wireless earpiece. If you have a laptop computer with blue tooth capability you can also send photos from your phone to your computer without having to buy a stupid $50 cable.

Yes, it can link to other devices, but those electronic devices must also support Bluetooth as well.
