As I know, there are two option:
1. Take train to Grand central station, and then go to Time Squares for the bus ($20) to DC (4hr): total cost is about $30
Problem: How do I get to Time squares from central station? I have luggage and have only about 30mins

2. Take ATRAK from Cron-on-Hunson to Penn station, then take another train to DC: total cost about $100

Any other better route?
Thanks.

#1 is the most economical option.

Actually, once you get to Grand Central Station, you can take the Times Square Shuttle "S" or the "7" subway over to Times Square. Follow the signs for the "A", "C" and "E" train which will take you through this long underground corridor. Once you get to the end of the corridor, exit the subway by looking for entrances to Port Authority. That's where you catch your bus. Add an extra $2.....that is if your luggage is light.

If you have a ton of luggage, grab a cab....should be about $5

If you take the train to NYC (Penn Station) there is a bus route to Washington DC from 34th Street. The cost is $35 round trip. I have never used it. Check their drop off locations in DC to see if any are convenient for you. I've listed the website .
