Distribute 2 to 2x and +1. 2x should be multiplied by 2, and it should be 4x. +1 multiplied by 2 should be 2. So the answer should be: 2(2x + 1) = 4x+2

=(2 X 2x) + (2 X 1)
=4x+2

I think 4X+2, but not sure. You times 2*2, so that equals 4X, then two times one, so that equals 2 and of course you keep the plus. I wasn't sure if this was just combining like terms.

Basically times everything inside the brackets by 2 (the number out side the brackets) and then simplify
