Try www.etsy.com It's a website to sell your handmade items. I only recommend it if your afghans are of your own design. If not you don't want to violate pattern copy right laws.

My Mother in Law sells are crocheted dolls & pilows to friends that she met at the Senior Center. She is 81. If one is younger than the age 55 that the Senior Centers have for membership, maybe there are clubs or activities that one could join such as various socials such as Baby Charity (or non-charity) Groups, Church Groups, YMCA gym that one meets friends, Social Groups... I collected Seashells when I was in my 20's to 40's and I belonged to a seashell group where I met friends.
So, maybe friends know fiends who would like the blankets. I'm trying to brainstorm for you. Maybe you know Grandmas or Mothers of babies or friends know such people. Lastly, could you sell them on the Net using a PayPal cart system using a easy webpage that you received a template for. If you are knowledgeable with the web, you can go this path or find info to help you with this such as Yahoo sites, GoDaddy.com sites, LunarPages.com sites. I use LunarPages & GoDaddy. GoDaddy is easier than Lunar because they have website tonight. In my embroidery group, many members use Yahoo sites and they are happy.
Have fun with you crocheting. My MIL is out today selling her crocheted pillows & dolls.

If they are your own designs, you could ask hospitals to take some on consignment in their gift shop.
Also, this is the perfect time of year for craft fairs. Just google "craft fair" and the name of your state and some will pop up.
And then of course you could launch your own website. I started with a freebie site until the money started coming in, then I upgraded to a paid site.
But if they're not your own designs, you are kind of stuck.

If you don't have the money to open up a store..why don't you try using the internet. You can start your own web site, which costs money, but not nearly as much as opening a store.
You could also start out o Ebay...to see how well they are selling.
Even myspace.
There is a lot you can do to advertise.

Try to sell them on consignment...maternity shops may be a start then go to the stores in your area that specialize in baby items.

How about in the mall, they're always doing that here (MN) around the holidays, or you could check the local newspapers and look for craft fairs. Good luck!!
