I have sent out letters and a complimentary ink pen with my contact info. I sent to 15 different schools and still haven't gotten a bite. I also sent a sample profit sheet, showing them how much they could make.

Tina,
I sell fundraiser candles for my company as well. In my experience they can ignore you if you write a letter and just send in forms. The best way to get them to bite is to dress yourself up, go in and hand-deliver it. Ask who you need to talk to, give them the info explain your profit plan, and tell them to have a good day. You can't force them to bite on it, but you can keep stopping by to "see how things are going" for them. Once you're a familiar face to them, they may warm up and give you a shot! If you contact me privately at stephanie_nature@yahoo.com, I can give you more tips and advice. Where are you from?
Hope this helps!
~Stephanie

Try sending to High Schools, or Middle Schools and send attention to Band Fundraiser or Sports Fundraiser. You may get a bite. I was the "Fundraiser mom" for our High School band when my daughter was a senior. Anything that came to the "school" took months to get to me. Addressed to Band Fundraiser, I got it in a couple of days. Most schools vote on next years fundraisers in the Spring. Hope this information will help you get a bite. (You should send info in January/February, try sending a sample candle or in the information tell them if they meet with you they can have a small free gift, that will at least get your foot in the door. If the band or whatever doesn't use you after meeting with you, they will pass the information to other organizations at the school.)

Call them personally and talk to everwho is in charge of fundraisers. The problem is if you do homemade candles they don't trust that our products smell as good as commercial even though I think homemade smells the best. So contact them, set-up an appt. take samples of your products that you are offering for your fundraiser and even carry scent samples with you of the scents you will be offering. It would even help if you had copies of the order forms and brochures. Hope this helps

Nobody wants to be the first one. They only want someone who already has results.

I think you will have to stage a couple of fundraisers on your own, then hand them the cash, then pull the plug and tell them if they want to keep getting the cash, they will have to participate.
