Now that they have been caught by the NCAA, is seems likely that the USC football program will be given the Death Penalty for due to the huge amounts of money involved, the ongoing nature of the Violations, and the fact that USC did everything possible to hinder the investigation. And yet when I mention this in an answer about USC's future coaching plans, the person who asked the question blocked me. Are USC fans in denial, or do they think USC boosters can pay the NCAA enough to avoid being justly punished for their actions?

West_Coast_Gotzilla; you're right, I shouldn't have generalized like that. There are a few USC fans here who do their best to give them all a bad name, but there are some like you who support your team with character and class, and I should not have lumped you in with them. My bad.

They probably BELIEVE that $$$ will be able to soften the blow. That seems to be their answer for everything...$$$!

I have to say this in defense of the true fans though...It absolutely sucks to be a fan of a good bunch of young players who, without the interference of a select few and the Trojan staff, could have been on their way to success, both in NCAA & NFL. Now they will be "tainted" and jacketed with the CHEATER label just because they are on the team. It is similar to the taunting of OU and their fans because of a handful of players screwing with time cards at a Norman car lot. Just ask Bomar where cheating takes you....from #1 to Sam Houston State.

Hold on in that Reggie still has until Friday to pay off this sports agent and keep the records away from the NCAA. Such action would eliminate the stiffest sanctions from the NCAA and allow Reggie to keep his trophy. However, the preponderance of evidence even if it is circumstantial should warrant USC some penalties. I have a feeling the agent is asking for a lot more than $300,000 to keep the documentation away from the NCAA.
Most of the USC fans can handle the truth. I mean you are not guilty unless you get caught. I dare say close to 100 percent of USC fans believe USC is culpable in the Bush fiasco and also Bush talked with recruit Joe McKnight. Now can you prove it. Did I also say USC fans are quite arrogant and almost bask in the limelight of a program that cheats.

Some of them just don't want to hear anything negative about their team, to the point that they'll block you to avoid those negatives. I don't think it's exclusive to USC fans, but they don't have the best representation on this site.

I just made the connection between your name and avatar. A picture of Austin as Captain Hammer - makes sense The things you know when you have young kids....

Edit - For the record, I don't think the person asking the question is Austin N.

I think your hatred for Southern Cal has exhausted the capacity of your brain to think objectively about things and you obviously do not possess the ability to avoid making generalizations about people.

I have said many times before that I do not condone violating rules of any kind and that I would understand perfectly if my school received blame for its blunders.

However it would definitely not diminish my pride for being a Trojan.

Peace.

I am a huge USC fan myself but I am not in denial. I believe that they have messed up but they have a great coach and they have no intension in firing him.

USC is like a dog who has crapped on the floor and looks away when you ask "what is that?".

USC has the most vegans and that will be taken in to consideration when they give them their penalty.
