There's usually a little covered area that has all the mailboxes under it. They look like PO boxes do in the post office. Little doors that open with a key that the apartment complex gives you.

Yes, typically there is either a bank of mailboxes in the foyer or perhaps out in front of the building they have a huge box with a door for every apartment. The mailman has a master key to open all of them at once to put the mail in.

Im sure they have mailboxes in the buildings, but you can also get mail from your local post office too.

It depends on which building you move into. Some have mail boxes in the lobby--especially if there are a lot of suites in the building. Some townhouses have door to door delivery, while others have a big box at the end of the drive. Some apartment buidlings have door to door delivery. If you are leery about having mail delivered to a box outside, or in the lobby, open up a postal account at an outlet near by.

From what I have ever seen, they go either to the lobby, or the entrance hallway, and there are the boxes, just as the post office has , with the box number displayed, and not necessary the names. The boxes have slots to where the letters can be slit.
