I can't believe that all that beautiful furniture is going in the skip ! I wish I could afford what they threw out ! The discarded furniture should go to charity, at least -it's criminal to dispose of it. What do you think ?

edit:- Kirstull -I'll email them with my address
edit:- Did you see they put the new TV on a wall above the radiator ! -won't last 5 minutes with the heat- not even a shelf between AND put the settee against the same radiator - they won't be able to watch it!

A house just over the road from me had the 60 minute makeover during the summer, they had a skip load of stuff that stood outside for a couple of days before it was taken away. The team (must have been 20 of them) arrived at 7.30am and didn't leave until it was nearly dark. 60 minutes my a*se!

Even though I love this show, I do think it's a bit stupid the way they are willing to just bin everything that has been a part of their lives for many years. I would hate to part with furniture so easily! And you're right, putting everything in the skip is ridiculous. Can't wood be recycled (he said he was binning the beds but I've not been watching it that carefully, just listening, waiting for the end!!), etc. And good furniture could be worth something to someone. There are many poor people out there who can't afford decent furniture!

I've seen it when they've donated their furniture to a family member or neighbour, but it definately could go to a charity that deals with people who have nobody to help them out when they are starting a home or leaving care etc. Maybe you could email them your idea !!
