I think anyone who has a child in a car with loud music should be charged with child abuse. I saw a couple putting their toddler in their car. The music was so loud I would hear it thumping through my rolled up car windows. Your writing they have low IQs just proved my point. These parents were complete idiots to be doing this to their baby.

Ummmmm........I've been listening to loud music since I've been driving (I'm 22).....and the last time I took an IQ test I was way above average...just a few points from genius actually (139).....but you know that means nothing really...but as for the child thing....I don't think I will listen to music very loud when I have kids...as a matter of fact my music is usually only loud when I'm alone...I like to have conversations when I drive with someone else in the car...where did you find this study at...I don't think loud music will lower your IQ

Give or take that does not involve the majortiy as much as the minortiy in car stereos hi fi systems that blast.
I have an IQ of 140 and love rock music since I am a musician and I play my stereo in my truck that booms the windows. I feel music, hear music and love the instruments. It enhances me as a musician and gives me new ideas as the days go on.
Some days the music is not turned up at all...it's a time for rest.
Blasting music with a child in the car is pure inconciderate more than low IQ.
Children have sensitive hearing and the blast will cause hearing loss.
With all said, the younger and older seem to like it both ways regardless of their IQ.
Drugs enhance the hearing and make your ears recieve a more crispy sound and thids is why most people crank it up when they are high or drinking.
There are more sine waves in the air during the peak hours of the afternooon than at night. This is why your setreo at home or in the car or truck sounds better at niight. There is less intereferrence with the decibals being put out.
Picture a spagetti wave versus a one single stran of spagetti.
The single stran will peak faster than going through the gob of spagetti to reach the peak. Make sense>?

my husband plays his stereo very loud in HIS car and he is very smart and has a high IQ, he isn't loosing any hearing yet either..I know cause he hears me when i whisper something to our kids.
The kids are never in his car so it dosn't effect our kids at all!
And what exactly do the studies show? How many in 100 people does this effect anyway? U did not say this. Maybe u should be more precise next time and get more info.

First off, I would never play loud music with a child in the car. That's just common sense. But these studies your talking about.....can you link to them. Can you tell me where they're published? Or, are you just repeating something that you heard once that was passed on from a friend of a friend of a friend. Don't believe everything you hear.

Looks like a good time to buy some stock in hearing aid companies!
When I am sitting in my car next to an idiot who thinks everyone wants to hear the crap they're playing I just roll up my windows and ignore them....they're not worth my time.

I would have to disagree with that statement. I have an IQ of 124, which means 120 - 140 - Very superior intelligence, I also have a 4.0 in school, where I am earning my Bachelors Degree. I am 25 years old. I also have two 12's in a hatch back box, with a 1000 watt amp in my car, that I listen to very loudly. So I disagree with your statement.
Though just to ease your conscience, when my friends have their children in my car, I turn down the radio. Everyone I know who had a system in their car, turns it down when children are present.

I play it louder than most because my hearing was permanently damaged in Afghanistan okay?
Lets not judge a book by it's cover. I'm actually quite intelligent.
