"A Raisin in The Sun"... there SHOULD be a rough sketch of the apartment in the front of the script (if I remember correctly from my days doing that play).

IF your school is using Microsoft Office, look on the computer for a program called Microsoft VISIO... it is a graphics program that will help you build a floor-plan that you can print out in almost any scale. Most Stage-Models are done in 1/4" = 1" scale.

Now you could glue this floor-plan (or a plan you sketch yourself) to a piece of thin plywood (1/8th inch doorskin), or trace it onto the plywood to guide you were to put the walls

You can then cut walls out of more of that same plywood, or less expensive is the foam-cored paper-board you can buy in the crafts section of almost any larger drug-store.

You can also cut out furniture from paper and paper-board.

You can color the walls and furniture with paints, fabric, pictures from the internet... just about anything.

Good Luck !!

You could start with a room box or get a kit.

But you should spell it RAISIN.
