How dare he make an announcement in the middle of A-Rod's grandstand play during the world series. He couldn't even wait until the parade was over. Is this just another example of Curt being Curt? (One of the all time self promoters)!

Obviously our friend Gene H has no sense of humor. Of course no on cares, that's the point!! Never could understand when someone disagrees they have to attack ones intelligence. Now that's really uncalled for.

I LOVE IT!!! Curt said when he got to Boston that this would be his last stop, beginning this year he said I want to play a few more years, ending this year it was I want at least one more year and at least 13 million for that year (not about the money though). He wasin Arizona saying that the D-Backs were his final stop. He flaps his mouth so much that he does not even konw what he said. I hope he ends up with the Tampa Rays for his final year...send him someplace where he can pitch and none of us have to hear from him because his team is of no consequence by week 2 of the season. He said that he would only rule out playing for the yankees...Hey Curt, beggers can't be choosers!

Santana will end up in New York before Boston & don't think Red Sox will repeat next year. Curt is just a self promoter that's all. I don't see Schilling in Hall of Fame either. Had a few good years but an overall, more than average career. Some Sox fans are being just a little too cocky already stating how they are going to win 3 or 4 World Series in a row. Enjoy this one & win next year before opening your big mouths. Last team to win 3 in a row, the New York Yankees 1998-2000.

He needs to make more cash since Barry Bonds had threatened litigation on the windbag after his verbal attack on him. Now a team could really make a splash by signing both of those guys...and toss Jeff Kent into that mix. Seriously, Schilling did state he has probably played has last game with Boston. With the dearth of quality starters on the market, Curt - even at his age - is making a great financial decision.

It's all about the ego my man. Curt needs to be the #1 pitcher on his team's rotation and this clear that Beckett is the ace of that staff.
In addition to Beckett taking all of his thunder, there was so much hype around Dice-K coming over to the Sox that Curt was mentioned in very few headlines.
Hopefully he can find a place where he can heal that enormous ego of his and be a #1 starter.

Want to have some more fun with this???.........Can you possibly picture him in pinstripes???..........It's not an impossibility.........As for Schilling I can tell you for a fact (because I know the leading memorbialia folks that work with him) he's a nightmare as a person...........He and Bonds are the most disliked players in the game by just about everyone who has dealt with them...............So yes, Curt was just being Curt............CAT

From one MICK to another... I enjoyed the cross reference about Curt being Curt ,,, because as we all know whenever the Little bus riding Manny does ANYTHING it just Manny being Manny... as if that makes anything he does OK... And you are so right about Curt being the Biggest SELF PROMOTER of all... Curt loves him some Curt....

Gosh, get over it. Bash A-Rod. Bash Sheffield. Now bash Schilling. What's up with you guys? What's so bad about Curt Schilling. Hall of Fame pitcher, post season gunner, and, what? A little to intelligent for you? He left Philadelphia 40 years ago. You never broke up with a girlfriend? He has to be held to a higher standard? Why? Name 3 guys you LIKE.

Wow,that would be funny if the Bosox grab Johan Santana and ruin the Yankees bids on him....that would seal a second championship in a row for you Beantowners!--Schilling is on the brink of hitting the retirement chair. 1 or 2 years at the most for him(like Glavine,Maddux and Rogers)

Everyone and their mother knew Curt would be on the free agent market all year long. No surprises here. I have to say the way he pitched this postseason kept him in baseball.
