does it worry you letting your children out trick or treating, in the dark?
does it worry you to answer the door?
have you been "tricked"? & had you already "treated" them when thet carried out a "trick" anyway?
what do you say to your kids as "ground rules"for trick or teating?

It is kind of an inconvenience for me.
Too much candy to buy, extra work and all.
I think the costumes are getting too slutty, it isn't cute and fun anymore like it used to be.
I supervise kids, hand out candy, and do extra work and spend extra money....I guess I am a halloween grinch

We have 5 children, 6 Grandchildren. We have always had great fun at Halloween.

Pa-Paw and I are going to a Halloween party tonight with our Daughter and 2 Granddaughters. The kids have decorated the garage, carved pumpkins, picked out fun dance music.

We will bob for apples, tell scary stories, make smores. The Dads will take the little ones trick or treating. The Moms will give out the candy, gossip and enjoy the children's costumes.

Boo!!! Happy Halloween

Nov 1: The party was a great success!!! The kid's costumes were darling. They ate, played games, went trick or treating then danced like maniac's. Grandpa and I did a little boogieing ourselves. I feel children help keep our hearts young. Don't you think quality family time is what children will remember into their old age, not expensive toys?

Have a wonderful day!!

My best childhood memories are from Halloween. My parents no matter how tired they were from work would always take my brother and I out trick or treating. We also took time to hand out treats when others came to our door.
So now I do it with my three children. As soon as I come home from work I quickly feed them dinner, dress them up and out the door we go. We have a great time. I do dress up too.
Ground rules are always to say thank you after receiving a treat, we go to the houses that are lit (we know a lot of our neighbors so that helps). No one can eat the candy until everything is checked. We don't trick. We have fun.
My kids are 15,14, and 8 yrs old. I will be dressed up as a fire fighter, so will my 8yr old. My 15yr old is making a statement this year and is going as a domestic violence victim (he really will make a statement) and my 14 yr old will go as a cat.
Oh another ground rule is that costumes can make a statement and/or must be positive no street walkers, strippers, pimps etc. I wish everyone a safe and Happy Halloween!!!! Have fun!

I LOVE IT! And now a new reason to love it-we closed on our first home so today is the first full day of ownership! Halloween is my favorite time so it is fitting. I love taking my son to trick or treat, making cupcakes for his day care, handing out candy to clients at work, its fun and festive! We don't get trick or treaters where we are now, but the new house is in a subdivision where people will actaully drop off the kids to trick or treat since the reputation is good candy and great decor in all the yards. So I will hit the after holiday sales this year to get decor for next year and I look forward to be swarmed with trick or treaters next year (and buy a massive amount of candy-the avg in the neighborhood is around $150 in candy for the night). Some might not like it-but to me it is a throw back to my own childhood and going out with my cousins and not worrying about anything but having fun. Enjoy the night:)

U ask alot of questions...
Yes, love Halloween, always have..
Yes, even as an adult, I dress up, and go party!
I'm a naughty nurse, this year...was a gorilla, last year.
I toilet papered houses, as a teenager.
My treats are in the bedroom.
I've had parties before, (BIG mess!) Not this year.
Ghosts, ghouls, witches? It's all about the harvest, really..
It's really all about the candy! Yes, it's fun!
People do get carried away, we should remember our childhoods, and keep Halloween for the kids!
Well, the overgrown penises, are a bit much, I don't want to see them on the streets, let's save that for in the bars...
I always went with the kids, their teens now.
Nope, not worried to answer the door, I'm not a paranoid person...bad people could come ANY time of year.
Yes, I've been tricked, toilet papered, but it was at Homecoming, never Halloween. Also, had the car scratched, but it still wasn't Halloween!
Go out, come back, bring me Reese's!!! (They are all 18 and 19, now)
If they come back, I'm happy..
You are welcome! Happy Halloween, be safe!

I love it and it is for the kids.
This year, I bought a new house and with work go home at night and am painting so cannot enjoy the spirit this year.
But usually get the candy for the kids. The first kid at my house always gets a $5.
When i was young it was a great time.
And it really became important in 2001. After the attack on the trade center America was at a low. but on 10-31-2001 all the kids came to my house again and they were able to celebrate the day and embrace the spirit of America

I love Halloween, i can't wait for tonight, but i don't think i will get many trick or treader's, i only got three last year, but I'll still get some sweets in just in case.

Whats there not to love about Halloween, pumpkins, horror films and lots of sweets! Sound like the perfect night to me!

I hate Halloween, mostly because I have a phobia involving people dressing up. But I still give out candy and will go to an occassional party (people have to be warned that I will Freak Out though). I haven't dressed up since I was in the fourth grade... so many, many, many years ago but I do decorate my house.

We take part but there are so few kids allowed out where i live that no one comes to your door any more i give the neighbours kids a bag of sweets .Bought a lot of sweets and cakes for Halloween again this year same as last and most of the stuff was wasted as no one came.
My two kids were out last year for the first and last time had eggs thrown at them by older boys so this year they won't be going any where.

I like halloween....we go to a pumpkin patch, we paint pumpkins,we put up decorations inside and out,we go get costumes and kids dress up for Halloween. We take kids out trick or treating and hand out candy. My hubby and I dont dress up though and we dont go to Halloween parties..we are not the partying kind. WE are handin out m&ms this yr. no tricks.
I think its all in fun....and we take our kids out or grandma does and they stay with us..no runnin off to far ahead. It is usually a bit light out when we first start out..and we take a vehicle with us so the kids don't get too tired of walkin and also they get to go to more houses in a shorter amount of time. we usually stay in our neighbor hood. This yr we are in a new town so I am taken them to some businesses up town they are handen out treat bags and then goin to try to see great grandma in the home and my husbands mom wants to take them out this yr so they will be goin around her neighbor hood instead. and we are handen out candy.
