Definitely, whichever party you look at the policies are the same. If the politicians do disagree it's only because they have to oppose rather than because they believe it. Where's the choice?

Nobody trusts Labour, but then they don't trust the Tories or Lib Dems either, where does that leave us?

If you went into a shop and they only sold 2 or 3 items and you didn't like the quality of them. So you you don't purchase anything. Would the shop keeper say that you were satisfied or apathetic. Because politicians say that when people don't vote. I didn't vote at the last general election. I didn't take the decision lightly, but I had only 3 to pick from and 2 in the local election. It seems the politicians are apathetic. More abstained than voted Labour(28%). We`need PR!

Im giving Brown a chance to change things.
It is a shame that the issue of the environment is not been taken as seriously as it should be. This government has a real chance to do something great and make England green, it would be cheaper for our nation to be green and it would be better for the environment theres no reason why we shouldnt go this way. Other than vested interests making it otherwise.

I agree dude, the conservatives are opertunists and just play for votes rather than providing a good alternative.
The Liberals seem to talk some sence but are now getting into party pollitics within their own party.

Im voting the greens next time, the Isle of Wight will be Tory for years but i will not vote them untill they stop lying all the time and do whats right for the greater good.

I'm fed up with almost all of the incumbents from both parties. Right now there is way too much bickering and way too little actually getting done.

The crop of politicians we have now in my humble opinion is too interested in pandering to their bases so they can get re-elected and not interested enough in taking care of the problems this nation faces.

Both parties are spending entirely too much time blamestorming on how they can make the other side look bad.

Down with incumbents!!

Actually although I am not a labour supporter I think that they have done very well in a difficult and complicated situation over the past 10 years. Yes they have made mistakes but then what government does not. They do appear to be running out of steam which happens after so long in government but Gordon Brown putting the Tories on the back foot with his pretence that was going to call an election was I think and very clever ploy and he can now and has taken the sting out of their election manifesto plans. They are now desperately trying new tactics with controlling immigration when we all know that any British government has very little room to manoeuvre in that field

How dare you be disloyal to our beloved government. What do you think this is, a democracy?

I suggest you join a political group which is plotting the downfall of the UK.gov - it is the duty of the opposition to plot the downfall of the government.

On the election front it looks like we're going to have to wait until c2009 before Gordon will dare set foot outside No.10 and go to the country. Poor sod.

Its not just you. Politicians are perceived to be on the make and totally unscrupulous. This is not only a legacy of the last ten years of labour spin but also remember the Major government and the corruption in that government. It pains me to say it but Mrs Thatcher was probably the last honest politician.

What party has ideas that are good i ask always and come up with my own little question. one they do not have on the literature just to show them that they do not cover every mans ideas are hopes. they lie like hell as well. if they didn't eh it would be nice but they lie better and better everyday. i think myself that when they go to them EU summits they get lessons from each other on how to lie. am a cynic when it comes to politics you bet i sure am. Vote independent i say, vote for the guy who comes looking for a vote on some issue like a hospital closing are something. at least they don't lie so much. mainly because they are idealists rather than just career liars

We have a very limited choice of talent when we vote, which explains why so many people do not bother. We seem to end up with the "evil of many lessers" every time.
It should be the highest possible honour to represent the voter in Parliament, but the majority of polititians are so busy with their noses in the trough, they forget why they were voted in.
And we want to impose Democracy in other countries against their will????

Well said Jabba !

It's not just you. There never will be a political party you can trust. When they are voted in they suddenly find it's not as easy as it looks. They make mistakes, believe their own publicity, that kind of thing.

I think we expect too much of them, they are human. I always vote Green now, but if they ever got in, they'd probably be as bad.
