I have been and bought loads of sweets for the occasion, along with that I will allow mine to knock on neighbours on our road. What about you?
See this link, there is a vote on it too. Surprising results actually. (well I was surprised)

I will be welcoming them until a reasonable hour ( little kids dont need to be at my door at 9pm )
any over sized kids (ie teenagers) will be not be welcomed at my house
AND if anyone dares comes to my door wearing a bloody scream mask their going to feel my wrath
lol
sick of teenagers using the same thing every bloody year
Although a lot of kids are scared of my dogs ( they think I own a pack of wolves ) so im not expecting loads

I live in the woods with a 400 foot driveway. I have not seen a trick or treater in 15 years. We used to buy a few of those HUGE Hershey bars for the first one with the guts to come up the driveway. It never happend though. Now, it's a $20 bill for the first person to show up.

Not only will I hand out candy (and not the cheap stuff either) I will dress up and stand out in the yard. I am going to be a ghost. A friendly one.
I love making kids have fun childhood memories.
I am one of a very few people who have their light on and hand out candy in block but I still get a lot of kids because they remember me from previous years.

I'll be taking my kids out trick or treating, but I have a bowl of sweets for when we get back. I'm not giving them out to teenagers though. A group of them knocked last night and I relented and gave them some sweets. Five minutes later I took the rubbish out and I could hear them shouting and swearing all the way up the road. It's kids like that who spoil it.

i can't believe that vote - this is exactly why kids can't have good clean fun anymore - when i was a teenager we could go roll someone's yard and not have the police called on us.
We could hang out in parking lots and not have the cops come.
Now, kids can't do anything like this, so they resort to parties out in the country with drinking and drugs. It makes me sick.
They get into alot more trouble because they can't do things like trick or treating , rolling yards without some evil person ready to shoot at them or call the cops
And remember the lady yesterday that said when she was 7 yrs old and was trick or treating and someone opened the door and threw a pot of boiling water in her face?
I don't think there's anything wrong with acting like you're not home if you don't want to participate, but calling it begging and things like that?? I think our kids are smart enough to know not to knock on someone's door asking for candy on any other day of the year!

Yes, so long as they've made an effort to look suitably witchy or ghoulish, they're not above about 10yrs old and they arrive before 9pm.
I don't need to dress up, I'll just take my teeth out. and wear a pointed hat. lol
The sweets will be in my daughter's "Bat Bag".
Unfortunately my kids are all grown up now and my Grandchildren live on the other side of town

"hell to the no!"
To be honest, living in a flat I am not sure how many we will get, I can see my partner getting angsty and mutteirng about pagan rituals if any do come knocking, bless him!

Yes....I love to watch the spooks running around and
having so much fun...however, it is wise to watch very
closely what the little spook brings home in his/her
trick or treat bag...too many fools out there and it is
dangerous as to what tricks some may try to play on
the child!
