I think one reason the show is so popular is that many people work in and office/cube environment and can really relate the the specific characters on the show. Every office has a Michael, Toby and a Dwight of sorts so it makes the humor easy to relate to.

Thats fair enough, a lot of people dont understand the humor or dont appreciate the under-layer humor that isnt in your face obvious.
I prefer the awkwardness of it all - and if you have to work to get it or to find it funny, then maybe it's just not for you.
The American Version is absolutely hilarious!

well its kinda obvious.
Not every one likes or enjoys the same type of humour. So, its guaranteed that something that makes you laugh will leave others scratching their heads!
the office is excellent. its humour is clever and subtlety done.
I personally find shows like friends etc to not be funny at all. The humour in these shows is very obvious and much more predictable.
but each to their own!! humour has many levels. it just depends which one you are on!

Dweight is really funny! I think it's really a good show, very creatively done. I didn't think it was funny at first but after watching it for a while I started to really enjoy the humor.

People have different senses of humor. Obviously, yours is simply not tuned to the same sort of humor used on The Office.

You are entitled to your opinion. I personally disagree. But if you don't find it funny, then nobody's explantion is likely to change that. Humor is not one of those things that can be drawn out for you. In a way, we don't get humor- IT gets US! The Office gets me....every time!

You need to watch it a few times. You haft to know the characters. Some people just don't like it I guess. You must like very dry humour.
