All words are made up. But they are a group of sounds used to describe a sensation. How do you know what you're feeling is really sorrow? because you've heard someone describe the sensation, and label those feelings as "sorrow"
The problem is, the feeling of love is SO difficult to describe, that people have to resort to art, poetry, and music to try and put it into a language people understand. I used to think that love was a myth, that they were combinations of other feelings in combination that people just threw together as one sensation: love.
But actually knowing love, and feeling love, i understand why it is so hard to describe and label. But when you feel it, you know exactly what it is, and exactly what to call it.

Yes, all words are made up words. However, I think love came around as a stronger word than "like" and a more pure way to express "lust." You know when you experience it when you more than like them and it's not only lust.
Sounds simple enough, why do people question it all the time or mess this up? Because love can be very confusing. For some inexplicable reason, in today's society, everyone is a commitment-phobe and everyone is afraid to express how they feel. Possibly because MTV portrays (probably not falsely) America's youth as alcoholic, materialistic, promiscuous, whiners. With all those endearing qualities, who has time for love?
I was ranting there for a minute, but I don't think I got that far off base. Bottom line? Love is experienced when like and lust are no longer applicable.

Love is weird. How do you know you're not infatuated? How can you distinguish between love and infatuation? Love does exist, but I think only for things you 100% about, like, I know I love ice-cream, or reading, or swimming. But to love a human-being totally and completely forever? Bit far fetched really. Especially when you learn something new about them everyday (or there abouts) or you're surprised by the way they can change, and stuff like that can effect the affection (love) you have for someone.
I'm confused when it comes to the word 'love' myself. I would like to find a perfect definition of the word, but have yet to.

Yes, it is. As are -all- words in all languages. However it's also made up from some pretty powerful emotions and is an excellent example of a word that can mean a whole bunch of rather different things to different people.

How do you know when you feel anything? How do you know when you experience anger, hate, joy, boredom? You just DO don't you?
It depends on YOUR interpretation of the word love. A lot of people mistake LUST for love. But it isn't the same thing. For me it isn't about sex either. You can love on different levels. For me its about care, loyalty, respect, trust, wanting the best for someone. There is a deep and meaningful level of intimacy. Again I don't mean physically, I mean a mental connection, a "soul" mate. If you love someone you have to be willing to compromise. You are supportive and allow them to BE who and how they are, allow them to do their own thing without needing to "own" them or know where they are all the time. You should not expect someone to change to be how you want them to be. You need to be able to over looking their flaws and the irritating bits! We all have them! If you love someone then you set them free to BE.

You're primarily a strong, practical person. You probably work well at material, down-to-earth activities, very often in the business world -- unless you're one of the few people with this kind of energy who have to first learn to break free of their dependence before they can operate comfortably in the material world. To a considerable extent, you are likely to be a rational and pragmatic individual with very strong needs. Because you want to satisfy your strong ambitions and material desires, your early years are likely to be spent working to satisfy those needs and learning, too, to free yourself from the troublesome situations caused by your limited concern for others. Much of your youth and young adulthood will probably be spent learning to recognize other people's needs and learning, too, to modify your all too obvious rigid or stubborn streak.
