Anything can happen. Look at the upsets that have already rocked the socks off everyone this season.
I am a diehard Buckeye fan (and to make it even more interesting my b/f is a big Spartans fan:)
Heres what I think is going to happen.....
OSU will be victorious over Wisconsin this week (although I won't be able to WATCH the game as my cable company (TWC) has The Big Ten Network as a preumium channel right now; but I'll listen to the game on the radio) though it will be a hard fought victory (I don't do point predictions:)
OSU will dominate Illinois, plain and simple.
That brings us to Michigan week - and herein lies the rub.......Is Michigan capable of beating OSU? Yes...for one reason and one reason ONLY - The Buckeyes will LET THEM WIN. Not on purpose.....its more of the Buckeyes come into Michigan week so confident (and vice versa because its *THE* game of the year for both teams) that they end up beating themselves. They give the game to Michigan.
OSU has been triumphant five out of the last seven years in coming away with the W......
11/18/2000 - Columbus (w) UM 38 -26
11/24/2001 - Ann Arbor (w) OSU 20 - 26
11/23/2002 - Columbus (w) OSU 9 - 14
11/22/2003 - Ann Arbor (w) UM 35 - 21
11/20/2004 - Columbus (w) OSU 21 - 37
11/19/2005 - Ann Arbor (w) OSU 17 - 8
11/18/2006 - Columbus (w) OSU 39 - 42
I don't do point predictions but I will predict something here....Lloyd Carr will be GONE if the Wolverines lose this one.....;)
The 'Big Game' has decided the Big Ten championship 32 times since the contest was moved to the last Saturday in the season in 1935; on 18 of those occasions, Michigan and Ohio State settled the title between themselves. The throne atop the Big Ten, as well as a trip to the Rose Bowl, is usually the reward for a victory in this contest. One Game Season, p. 356
With Ohio State University known nationally as the college football capital, it's no wonder people in Central Ohio follow the Bucks with such intensity. After all, when you're named after a killer nut you have to be good. But as Coach John Cooper once said, "You can have a good season if you win the rest of your games...but you can't have a great season unless you beat Michigan." Losing to Michigan is unforgivable. Does this unforgiveness stretch back to the birth of Ohio, when we had to fight for land we thought Michigan was trying to steal? No one seems to know for sure. But "The Big Game" might just be the annual replay of the Toledo War.

ohio state will beat michigan. let's not forget the first game of the year for michigan. let's not forget that they were #5 in the country and lost to a I-AA team. let's not forget that mike hart has been hurt the last two weeks. let's not forget that michigan hasn't won a game against OSU in the last three years and only once in the last six. OSU's defense will shut down the "offense" for michigan. i think the only way michigan wins that game is if OSU turns the ball over. if OSU runs the ball well, doesn't turn the ball over & scores 17 points or more then i think they're gonna win. the reason i say 17 or more is because OSU will give up an early touchdown, they'll settle down & get into a rythim defensivley. as OSU always does late in the game they give up a TD in the last few minutes of the game. so as long as they score a few TD's then they will be alright.

I think Wisconsin will be the more difficult of the home games, they always give OSU trouble. The Michigan game will be determined by who takes advantage of the breaks in the game best, even though OSU is a better team now, the rivalry throws everything out. Maybe being an OSU fan, I say OSU by 12. And then on to the National Championship where OSU will be better prepared than last year and thus win that game also.

Buckeyes will definately be favored to win the next two against Wisc and Ill... but Michigan.
Throw out everything up to the point when it is OSU vs. Michigan, because nothing else matters.
That game is played with a whole lot more emotion than any else either of those two teams will play. Michigan has lost twice, but that really doesn't mean a thing. Not when it's OSU they are playing. They have been working their way back up the poll, and have been looking fairly impressive.
I really don't think OSU will have a problem, but we will see... 2 and a half weeks!!!! Can't wait!
GO BUCKS!
OH!

I think Michigan is the LEAST likely game they will lose. Tressel owns Michigan, and Ohio State should be favored every time they play until Michigan proves they can beat them, even if Ohio State is 0-11 and Michigan is 11-0 going into the game.

Yes, I do think they will win out. Wisconsin is incapable of playing well on the road and they've lost their top 2 receiver's for the year, so that should be an easy win for OSU. Illinois is better than people think, but they turn the ball over, which will probably kill them, OSU will win, but probably closer than people would think. OSU has owned UM for the past few years, it'll be a good game, but I expect OSU to win.
The bigger question is can OSU actually keep it close or win in the MNC game. As much as I hate OSU, I'll be really mad if they get blown out again this year.

They have a good chance to do that no doubt.
Michigan is down this year and Mike Hart has been hurt. It looks to me like the Buckeyes will be the first team to be in the NC game back-to-back since the Sooners and the Trojans did it a couple of years ago.

even though osu should be unbeaten going into that game, i feel that michigan will have more tp play for. they should still be unbeaten in conference themselves so the rose bowl will be on the line. that, and the fact that it would be able to deny osu a shot at the national championship would taste even sweeter after the start they suffered this year.

Could happen, wouldn’t underestimate The Badgers or Illinois though... Badgers could easily upset them if they pull it together quickly. Michigan will be a tough task also... Who knows we will see soon enough
