The official story is that he shot himself, as the Russian troops were almost on top of his underground bunker.

Just prior to killing himself, he married Eva Braun, his long time mistress.

He had his German Shepard dog Blondi put to death, then he and Eva went to his Private chambers, where she swallowed strychnine, and he then shot himself.

The SS guards, carried the two bodies to the bunker yard, poured gasoline on them, and cremated them.

What Happened To Adolf Hitler

In the final days of the war, Hitler and his new wife, Eva Braun, committed suicide in his underground bunker in Berlin, as the city was overrun by the Red Army of the Soviet Union.

The generally accepted cause of the death of Adolf Hitler on April 30, 1945 is suicide by gunshot and cyanide poisoning. The dual method and other circumstances surrounding the event encouraged rumours that Adolf Hitler may have survived the end of World War II along with speculation about what happened to his remains. The 1993 opening of records kept by the Russian KGB and FSB confirmed the widely accepted version of the death of Hitler as described by Hugh Trevor-Roper in his book The Last Days of Hitler published in 1947. The Russian archives did, however, shed some new light on what happened to the cadaver.

I hope it helps!

Just before his underground bunker in Berlin was overtaken and captured by the Russians, Hitler married Eva Bruan, then they both swallowed cyanide capsules and were dead before they hit the floor.
Nazi officers carried their bodies to the surface, doused them with gasoline and set them afire. The Russians eventually recovered the skeletons, and proved the one was Hitler through his dental records.
They didn't bother giving this evidence to the U.S. until the mid 1960's when a whirlwind of controversy claimed Hitler was still alive and living in South America.

As the Allied Forces entered Berlin and Adolph Hitler knew he had been defeated, committed suicide with his new bride the former Eva Braun. There were conspiracy theorists that said Hitler never died there, that he was smuggled out. The reason people said this was the fact that the Russians poured gasoline on them and burned the bodies beyond recognition. Forensics being not what they are today we could not positively identify the bodies.

Simple facts - Hitler gave Blondie his cyanide pill because he didnt trust his henchmen. He was very afraid of being taken alive by the Russians.
He shot himself throught the right temple NOT through his mouth as is commonly believed. His remains are in fact buried in a graveyard in Germany to this day.

After WW 2 his remains didn't do much. Only falling to peaces. He died before the end of the war. Just a few days, but still...
He killed himself in the Führerhauptquartier under the Reichskanzlei. He took poison AND shot a bullet throug his brain. Good shot!

He killed himself like a coward rather then be captured alive. I wonder of Bush will do the same the night before Hillary takes over.
