No not really. With good eating habits, and excersise, you should be able to maintain a normal weight and not gain more than necessary.
Even overweight women can maintain a healthy weight during pregnancy.
Most times when you show earlier, it usually means this is your 2nd, 3rd or 4th pregnancy.

i got pregnant when i was 19 and had ALOT of complications. (i didnt even know i was pregnant until it was too late) i lost the baby at about 14 wks. then when i was 23 i got pregnant again-i was DEFINITLY showing by 3 months. got huge...as in gained almost 80 pounds-BUT i drank water like it was the bset thing on earth and ate strawberries and peaches like they were going out of style. everything else would make me sick if it had a "taste". thats hard to explain to anyone if they have never been pregnant but i couldnt eat anything if it had a taste. smells made me sick and even the thot of some foods would make me hurl. my son is now 4 and still to this day i cant stand the smell of popcorn or 'party mix' type stuff. i personally ate healthy foods just large quantities of. i was always depressed and always tired. i was going to school full time and moving around alot too-needless to say i didnt have a good pregnancy experience.
a couple of years later i got pregnant again and didnt know it again until my fiance (of now 8 years) rushed me to the hospital. i found out i had an atopic pregnancy and that i was hemorging eternally. i have since made it where i can no longer get pregnant since my body doesnt deal well with pregnancies (doctors recomendation).
my point is: every woman is diff. and every pregnancy is diff.! i gained so much weight my 2nd preg. topping out at 212! after having a 8 lb 3 oz baby i left the hopsital 3 days later at 212! what sense does that make, i still have no clue! none the less, with hard work and meds (post pardum) im now down to where i was and actually have never been so health conscious. a friend of mine once said while i was 'oh so pregnant' "i truely believe a woman gains and craves what her body needs to support the life inside her" it may sound stupid or even a bit ignorant minded but at the time it really did make me feel like this weight isnt permanent given that i get back to my normal routine after giving birth.
dont stress about the weight or showing early-it will only help to put stress weight on! make yourself feel and look like a woman, a beautiful pregnant woman at that! even if you 'go' early, or your HUGE at months, you are a still a woman who can be beautiful no matter what you "look" like. and if all you can do is walk then walk. that alone helps to reduce pregnant fatigue and stress.
good luck and i hope all goes well!
(they have some really nice maternity wear anymore at a cheap cost-take advantage of it while you can-cuz wearing clothes like that when your not preganant will only look stupid... lol)

No, I assure you that it doesn't mean that.

After becoming pregnant with my daughter (when my son was 2.5) I felt like I was showing as soon as I peed on the stick, LOL. I did show earlier, but I wasn't totally HUGE by 9 months, I looked like the typical pregnant woman at 9 months, nothing more.

not really. It all depends. My friend started showing when she was like 8 weeks but by the 9th month of her pregnancy she wasnt HUGE, i mean she had a belly but shes not HUGE. So it all depends on your body type and how the baby grows.

It all depends on the woman, everyone is different... It could happen, yes. BUT just cause you show early doesn't mean that you will be big for sure, with my first baby, I thought I was never gonna show... I didn't really til I fricking blew up at 6months... I was HUGE! I gave birth to a 9lb 3oz daughter... (she was 11 days late also)

Maybe. I showed early the first time and had a 9 pounder and my best friend showed early and looked full-term at 6mths. she had a 10 pounder. I do think the amount of weight you put on has a lot to do with stomach and baby size. Don't forget bubs gets all that fat and sugar too.

This is my first pregnancy and I felt my lower adbomen getting slightly larger and firmer in the first 4-5 weeks! I think it's because I am above average weight and my tummy is prone to putting on weight.

We went for an vaginal ultrasound this morning. The sonographer said my uterus has definitely increased in bulk.

No. this is my second pregnancy and they say you show faster, 'cause your body is stretched and remembers being pregnant. I am now only 24 wks, and look huge like I am due today. But the doc checked the weight and it is normal.

Set your personal machine alarm to ring hourly—stand upwards for 1 to 5 minutes everytime it goes off.

From breakfast, go ahead and take in orange juice. But throughout the rest of the day, focus on water rather then juice or soda
