Yes! Once a long time ago, back in 1978, even though I always thought that that kind of stuff happens to folks with an overactive imagination.

We were four, sharing an apartment and soon after we all moved in, I started having dreams where I could distinctly hear a woman screaming in blood curdling fear and then agony.

At first I dismissed the dreams and figured I needed to change my TV viewing habits, but the dreams kept reoccurring.

Then one morning, as I was sharing breakfast with one of my roommates, I shared the dream. He looked at me intently and said "that's scary man, I had the same dreams a few times since I moved in!"

It turns out that every single one of our room mates experienced the same thing! We got so curious that we decided to do a little research and found out that a 29 year old woman had been stabbed multiple times until she died. The police told us it was a crime of passion and it must have been a very violent event.

Was the place haunted? Do highly emotional events actually "imprint" or "record" themselves on the walls of a home or in the fabric of time and/or space?

Who knows, but one thing is certain: All four of us experienced the dreams and a woman did get killed violently in that apartment.

Best,

MJ

Yes I have stayed at the Borthwick Castle outside of Edinburgh Scotland. There is a legend that states that Lord Borthwick had an affair with the Chamber maid and was she was impregnated by him. In the middle of the night, this adulterous woman was bludgeoned to death with her unborn child still in her belly. Boo!

Anyway, I didn't experience anything except for a wonderful stay.

I have also visited many castles where horrible things took place, although there is a chill in the air I contribute it more to the dampness of the United Kingdom than the spirits that a rumored to haunt those places.

Sure, our house in Michigan was built in the 1880's and there was something not quite right about it. We would hear strange things and I actually moved my office from upstairs to downstairs because upstairs you always felt as if you were being watched. When we had kids we had no choice but to make the weird room my sons room. When he was about 2 1/2 he was playing in his room and I went in to put away clothes and he asked me "mommy, do you see that man in the corner? oh, you can't see him-he's a ghost." Now how in the hell does a 2 1/2 year old know what a ghost is. That scared the crap out of me. He was never bothered by it. A year later I was painting his room and got sick of the being watched feeling and I did the go to the light you're dead thing and after that we never felt like we were being watched. Sounds crazy, but I swear it's true.

Yep, Carbisdale Castle youth hostel. Random footsteps when I know with utter certainty that there was no one else there. Mind you, I didn't look round. I just got the hell back to my bunk.
In the three days I stayed there, I heard those steps every night, but that was the only time I was in the same corridor as them. I made damn sure I never had to get up to go to the toilet during the night again.
And my old flat apparently had a five year old kid haunting it. I never saw a thing, but my ex girlfriend and my best mate both saw him... and I would add that no one was on any form of narcotic at the time! That particular weekend we were all low on cash and there wasn't even any beer in the house.

yes. I lived in a house built by evil ppl. Every night of the full moom, it would shine into a window, and I would hear stuff, like whisperings, creaky floors, and i was told that a man killed himself there. In fact, the bedroom I slept in, was "my room," was the room he called his own. he hung himself in the attic, and the fragments of rope was still there when I left home at 18. (we moved in when I was 4) the addy was 812 ( two 6's there) N. 6th, ( there's the third 6)st. It was believed that those ppl sacrificed small animals, and did devil worship there, which is why they built it in the first place. Back in the late 1800's when it was an apple orchard, the yard wook up two lots, and the house stood in the very center of it. My older brother owns it now and he can't keep anyone in it for long.

I sure did. At my friend's house. She told me there was a spirit haunting the upper part of her house (2nd story). Her parent's swore there was a spirit. But guess what? I spent the night and nothing happened. NOTHING.

One thing that work really well is saying-- bloody mary-- 5 times in front of the mirror and have someone else turn off the light. My friend got scratched in the face. It was weird. I almost pooped in my pants. I was right next to her and she was turning blue. And a friend and I noticed that one half of her face got scratched. Spooky crap.

HELL YES!!!! When I was little we stayed in the house my great-grandma died in. Oh my goodness that place was haunted by evil spirits. When I was little you would see them, really, all black spirits running around the living room & kitchen. When we moved out the house was knocked down & rebuilt. I still think the property itself is haunted.

I grew up in a haunted house. I use to be afraid but then I started to talk to her. My Father also became interested in the Spirit world. He became a trance medium. There is nothing to fear. I receive messages from spirit when people ask me for readings.

Grew up in a haunted home- Have 5 siblings. We all heard things, banging doors, shackles outside our windows, etc. I woke up and saw several cloaked white images around my bed. So did my Sisters @ different times. Funny thing is, we were NOT afraid. We felt they protected us.

NEVER talk about them when you are IN the house. They don't like this..... :-I

One time I stayed at my best friends house, and I think that it was haunted because I kept feeling things standing by me...and it felt like someone was watching me while my friend was asleep.
