I'm a Rudy guy myself, but how did Fred Thompson step into the race and blow right past Mcain & Romney? What did I miss? What is it about him that's better than Mcain & Romney? I must have been asleep that day or something.

He did creep up us on all, that was his strategy, and it seems to be working. Thompson is seeing as salvation for the true conservatives (not rudy). As opposed to Rudy, he his for a fence that protects our borders. That's right, a real fence. Not an "invisible" one with some radar detectors here and there as Rudy is. McCain is also not firm on immigration...he wanted to grant amnesty to thousands of aliens. Many people might say he is too relaxed, or arrogant. Well I think he's confident because he knows he has what it takes, he knows that America is thirsty for some hard core conservatism. And I think he is right. Rudy is just a centrist, and liberal on fiscal issues. Please, let's not settle for less this election. We need to embrace true conservatism. Rudy, he just isn't. Say YES to Fred.

Most of the people that support the G O P are sick of the rest of the field and are grasping at straws to find anyone that might have a snowballs chance. Unfortunately, they are waking up to the fact that Fred is just another lazy flip flopper that's only real claim to fame is his wealth and notoriety, otherwise, how would anyone explain his wife? To hot for TV (stars that are old and ugly)

Who knows? Right now all these Republican candidates are Whack-A-Moles. Its too early to declare who will be THE candidates. Either way we will be sadly stuck up with the leadership we deserve - not the ones we need.

He reminds some of the GOP of Ronald Reagan, and that has them starry-eyed.
