Is the NBA getting to the point where there is just way too much time spent on FT shots?

Why would a fan want to see a top pro make more free throws than the player makes field goals?

It is defenitly part of why it is so boring.

This era will go down as the era that ruined basketball.

With shoe contracts being looked at as more important then team contracts and players worried about playing to hard they might get injured and blow their endorsments they have to hold themselves back.

Refs calling ever little thing and dont let them battle for the win. Now its a game of who gets more fouls wins (unless you forget how to shoot free throws against the Rockets on opening night!!!)

We need to get back to hard ball players and not over payed babies. I say clear all teams and contracts hold a new fresh draft or every player like picking teams back in school and pay every person the same amount. Then take all of the huge salaries compile them together and give them to the championship team to equally share. This would kind of force them to earn the money they want. Of course there are a million holes in this game plan but hey its a start.

Because it is part of the game. The fact that defenders have to foul players like Bryant and Arenas in order to stop them places them at the FT stripe a lot.

Basketball is still way more entertaining than the boring NFL or Baseball

Really depends, FT is also fun if you suppose the team, or close game. I watch Kobe play yesterday and it really not Kobe who's fun to watch, is at the end of the game where Lakers come back and tired the game which is really fun.

not to be condescending, but this was the first game of the season, and there were two other games last night that were pretty good... we are probably going to be seeing games called a lot closer because of the referee scandal this past summer...

That is why so many people prefer college basketball to pro basketball.
