My oven is veeeeerrrrrrry slow, takes about 20-25 minutes just to pre-heat. I rarely use it at all, I never bake or make oven dinners from scratch either.

I don't think there's a difference in flavor when heating a TV dinner; of course a meal cooked from scratch tastes much better but a TV dinner is just as good or just as bland no matter how I heat it.

I prefer Microwaves for these reasons:

A. They ALWAYS are faster to heat.
B. The food has no chance of burning, unless it is a liquid type thing, like pudding or something (which I've had in TV dinners...) and it's on the side, as then that part will burn, unless it's in a big pile of stuff =P, However, Ovens can both burn the food and melt the TV dinner case if left in too long.
C. Food in the microwave doesn't come out crunchy all the time, personally, I like non crunchy brownies, mashed potatoes. I do prefer veges in the oven, as microwave makes then rubbery, but that's the only reason.

I always think I'd rather use a conventional oven, but then I read the directions and it takes like an hour to heat a TV dinner in the oven. And, frankly, by the time I get to the TV dinner in the freezer, I'm STARVING and unwilling to wait that long!

It comes out better in the oven, if you have an hour to spare do it in the oven, use the microwave only if in a hurry. I have actually tested this using Encore Salisbury steaks and Stouffers Meatloaf.

Ovens are safer. Microwaves emit radiation.
