And how did he open those cans of Cabbage? It's been so long ago now and they were unusual entertainment 'rather camp'.

I think they've slowed down showing Popeye because it's a very, very old cartoon although with censorship these days, I wouldn't put it past them to block Popeye for that reason.

Also it's Spinach. I think it was a sort of plot to get kids to eat their spinach, because after watching Popeye I would gobble up all my spinach in hopes that I would attain super powers.

Oh how dissapointed I was...

Spinach was said to be an amazing source of iron, but that came from a report into food that was mistyped. The idea that spinach was soo amazingly good prompted its use in the cartoon.

I think it's not shown because it's an old cartoon that hasn't aged well.

Popeye is not often on TV anymore because every the conflict of every story was resolved by Popeye going psycho and beating the stuffing out of Bluto.

The idea of "promoting" the idea that violent beatings will solve your problems is outdated, and no appropriate for kids today, who are already known to solve their problems by shooting their classmates.

It's not because Popeye smoked a pipe, but rather what was IN the pipe... (it wasn't tobacco. )
