...not sure if this is exactly what you were looking for, but universally agreed upon, per the die-hard horror film and Frankenstein film devotees (...though criticized for quite dry, and almost too literal), it is the 1977 production, imported from Sweden, and called "Terror of Frankenstein" (aka "Victor Frankenstein"), that comes the closest to following author Mary Shelley's original horror novel; to add a touch of authenticity to the horrific proceedings, the film was actually shot in and amongst the regions, where the story itself, took place...

Some of the locations are clearly a set, whereas a few scenes were shot outdoors and therefore look more naturalistic.
