It's possible and would actually be a good move for the Dodgers. The Dodgers already play in the Offensively challenged (No offense Rockies fans) NL West and need a big bat in the middle of their lineup. They also need the promotional facilities that A-Rod would bring, the Angels have pretty much taken over the LA Baseball market and only the Loyal Dodger fans remain. A-Rod would immediately provide the club with the relevance they need to compete with the Angels in LA.
I think it's about a 45% chance he'll end up there. The key factor being $.

I believe A-Rod will follow Torre to LA but to the Angels and not the Dodgers. There are two major issues that will keep A-Rod from the Dodgers, they are a NL team and there is no DH which A-Rod might need as he gets older, and Dodger Stadium is one of the more difficult ballparks to hit homeruns. There is one additional issue as well, most people believe A-Rod got along with Torre and I am not sure that is true. There were some differences between the two especially when Torre hit A-Rod 8th in the line-up a few years back in the playoffs.

Joe Torre is going to the Dodgers but maybe A-Rod is going to the Angels...
He is not going to the Tigers because I believe he wants to play SS again and Detroit just traded for a SS two days ago...
Yes, Piniella may be close to him, but the Cubs have some good chemistry going since they ridded themselves of Barrett... notice how they had one of the best records in the majors after he left... besides, they don't need a cancer on their team right now...
Where is he going to fit in with the Mets? You can't tell me that a true Mets fan would want to get rid of either Reyes or Wright for an unproven playoff hitter...
Right now he seems destined for the Angels, so he can be a DH later in his career as well...
Unless some team comes out of nowhere to sign him...

The two teams I think that A-rod will go to are the Angels and the Giants. The Angels recently parted ways with there general manager and he was said to be against A-rod. The owner of the Angels, Mr. Moreno, may have nobody to talk him out of the mega deal that A-rod will land. The Giants are the sleeping dark horse. After all they over paid for Barry Zito and they are in need of a big name to bring fans to the ball park. This is a recipe for disaster with a vulnerable owner and Scott Boras. Buyer beware, Scott Boras is at his best when applying pressure to the throat.

It is way to early to say anything yet....Torre has not been offered a deal yet by the Dodgers....But I think A-Rod may very well follow Joe to LA and dont be suprised if Mo and Posada follow too Also Mattingly and Guidry will bring up the rear

I just returned from the kitchen where me and Dad were talking baseball. We are unanimous that Torre and Rodriguez will end up with the Dodgers.
As for the thumbs, ah, they can do what they want with them.

Let him, still don't think any player is worth $30+ million a season for the next 10 years. This escalation in salaries is crazy and hurts the average fan as we have to pay more at the ball park.

Doubt it, Torre and Arod were not at all close, especially after Torre batted him 8th in last years playoff lose to Detroit. I think the Cubs (Arod is close to Pinella), Angels and Giants will make big offers.

I do not think so. A-Rod will be in Boston next year. He was never a favorite of Torre in NY. Boston wanted him before and if they are willing to pay $100 million for Matsuzaka, then they will and can afford A-Rod

I am hoping that MLB teams finally get wise and say No to those outrageous contract demands, by all agents, but in particular Scott Boras.
I hope that no one bites for a 10 year $30 mil contract.
I hope the owners force him to be reasonable or head to Japan, If he goes to Japan, he has a smaller chance at breaking all those records that they predict he will.
I know it won't happen, but I always have hope that the owners will draw a line.
