The basic material as a commodity has a very stable price at US $0.13 a gram. You won't find a lot of variation in that. If your requirements are stricter than the raw, impure metal, the price and the suitable sources vary accordingly.

If magnetic refrigeration is your target, don't waste your time learning to make the magnets. Buy them from a manufacturer who is already established and experienced. Your competition will, so if you don't, they will beat you to the market by years.
