ive got a quad core q6600 overclocked to 3.5ghz
with 4gigs of ddr2 ram overclocked to 900mhz

It shouldn't have much trouble with Vista though you shouldn't be running your components above the manufacturers rating (i.e. stop overclocking) otherwise you may get intermittent malfunctions.

You won't be able to use all that RAM though, depending on how much video memory you've got (at least with 32 bit Vista which is what you're probably getting).

Whether you should be running Vista is another matter though (in general the answer is no).

You need to have a decent video card as well.
Vista supports DX10 as wel as DX9.
The 4gb of ram will come in handy especially if you use the 64-bit operating system.

Almost certainly, but you will need to make sure your mobo is vista ready. Just go to the manufacturers website and check out the specs. ^_^

i have installed vista on a pc much weaker than your's
but you should know that there are a few softwares for vista
you can also make a vista ready test which is availabe in many websites like microsoft itself,ati.com,nvidia.com,overclockers.com...etc

I believe Microsoft's website has a test you can run to see if your computer is Vista compatible.

I don't see why not.I don't have anywheres close to what you have, and Vista works fine on my laptop.
