Who would win this matchup and why? I think the 1994 niners probably 31-21, would be a pretty cool game to watch.

The '94 49ers did something that the '07 Patriots haven't accomplished - they won a super bowl.

How about a better game: The 2007 Patriots vs the 1978 Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steel Curtain would be able to slow down the Patriots offense and then Terry Bradshaw could over the top to Swann and Stallworth, or pound it out with Franco Harris.

Steelets 21
Patriots 6

I think the only team that would give the 2007 Patriots a game is the 1985 Bears.

Well which rules you choose will affect the outcome of the game. Today's rules or the rules of 1994. If they play by today's rules your score is probably accurate. If they played by the rules of 1994, the niners would probably win by more then 20.

The 1984 49ers were better than the '94 version. I think the Pats could handle the '94 9ers.

There is no team in the history of this league that could give this team a game, other than maybe the Colts. And I am not a Pats homer, I just have the Sunday ticket and have seen every game, and I'm telling you, they are nasty. They actually get to a point in games where they are bored and just padding stats for something to do. It's rediculous, never seen anything like it in 30 years of being a huge NFL fan. The pro bowl teams couldn't beat the Patriots, put it that way.

'94 49ers. Better defense and offense. I would take Young to Rice over Brady to Moss any day.

let's see... if the pats offensive line is allowed to hold (as they currently are)... they'd beat most of the defensive oriented superbowl champions of the past.

if it is straight up play though, 85 bears, 78 steelers, 90s cowboys, and several of the 49ers teams would dominate the pats.

The '94 49ers were the weakest of their Super Bowl teams...Steve Young was no Joe Montana...Even HE was aware of that...The 2007 Pats would crush those 49ers...

The Pats would win. One the best qb'sf all time and one of the best wr's of all time. Thats just on offense. They have a all around good defense with a nice mix of veterans and young players. They have a shutdown corner, a huge defensive line, good linebackers, and one of the nfl's best saftey's.
