I once did a speech in front of the Prince Of Wales, then I moved on to several other pubs in the local area. I was very drunk and everyone ignored me

Yes, many times. The way to be confident is absolute preparation. You must know what you are talking about thoroughly. Write the speech yourself, so it is in your phraseology, re-write it and re-write it until it is exactly right and read it through the night before and first thing in the morning of the speech.

Frequently, and normally I enjoy public speaking (I am a lecturer by profession)
However, I have a real problem at the moment; next week I am expected to give a valedictory speech at the funeral of someone I never really liked. I do not wish to offend any of his relatives, but hypocrisy never felt right with me. It's going to take some writing!

Yes. I've had to make many speeches. I use to be terrified to speak in front of an audience but now it's no big deal. A good friend once told me not to worry because if I couldn't dazzle them with my brilliance, then I could baffle them with my BS.....................lol

yes on about 18 occasions hate making a speech i stamble and stutter and 4get what i'm saying i go bright red and yet they still keep asking me to do them if they'd give me a speech by telephone and i'd be fine
