Sounds like you turned system restore off and turned it back on, thus losing all your restore points. :-(

Some people here recommend that for *every* problem and you are an example of why I try to spread the word not to do that.

Now on to the problem at hand: there's no such thing as a spyware virus. So without knowing what you really have I would suggest that you run Superantispyware and A-Squared Free in safe mode...and since your system restore is already compromised, you may as well shut it off (just for the scans.)

Superantispyware: http://superantispyware.com/
A-Squared Free: http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/
How to start in safe mode: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial61.html

After your system is clean, reboot and turn system restore back on.

Good luck.

A lot of viruses will wipe all of your restore points to stop you remmoving them this way.

There are only two ways of getting rid of it
1. Use a decent anti virus software
2. Reformat your hard drive and reinstall the entire computer

Best thing is to have anti virus running all the time to stop the buggers coming through

Go to http://download.com and get the free anti-spyware program Spybot Seek & Destroy. It should clean the spyware for you.

There are several spywares that delete all of the restore points to prevent you from being able to use them to get rid of the spyware.

personally I would just save any data you need and do a recovery from fresh either with the recovery disc that came with the pc or it's built in on hard drive
