Have you ever been addicted to the thought of someone??

YES

what is the best way to get over it?

I've heard that it is to become addicted to the thought of someone else. Hasn't worked for me so far despite trying to date/meet a lot of new people... despite all the years that have passed. :-/

Completely addicted to my gf and the thought of being with her. Never want to get over it.

Absolutely. The only way I got over it was by preventing myself from creating new memories of him--that is, not hanging out with him nearly as much. That way, my brain got tired of replaying all of our old interactions.

But it took a really long time, and I'm still not totally out of the habit.

Ahhhh, Kim. And that was 21 years ago. She was gorgeous back then. Even though I haven't seen her in many, many years, anytime I meet someone named Kim my thoughts immediately turn to her and 1986.

My experience is that you're in trouble.

Addictions are not healthy. Find something else to concentrate on.

Yes! Time and he showed his true colors. After that it was easy, I didn't want to think of him anymore.
