You can have sex or go for long walks. Also, next time you see your doctor, ask him/her to strip your membranes. Good Luck, hope you meet your baby soon!

Inducing labour isn't natural, no matter how it's done.
If you aren't in labour it's because your body and your baby aren't ready. Being fed up or just impatient to see your baby isn't good enough reason for a doctor to induce you.
There are various home remedies you can try which other people will no doubt tell you about but the bottom lime is unless you are ready they won't work. And if anyone suggests castor oil, DON'T do this, all it will do is stimulate the bowel to contract, not the uterus, and if you're not ready for labour it can leave you dehydtrated and very uncomfortable, and if you do happen to go into labour, going in with a case of the runs....... not pretty.
At 37 weeks you potentially have a long way to go yet, up to 42 weeks is considered normal. Trying all sorts of DIY things at home to get labour started when you're not ready will do more harm than good, generally.
Give mother nature a chance, your labour will probably go more smoothly. And if by chance induction is needed for any reason, leave it to the professionals as an induced labour needs to be monitored as there is a risk involved.
If you love your baby, you'll wait a few more weeks.

I am over 40 weeks ...And I have not had my baby yet :( I personally am afraid of doing anything that could potentially cause a problem with the baby..even though I am past the 40 wk marker. Try just not even thinking about it! LOL ..I know that is WAY easier said than done...but it will happen when you least expect it.. On it's own time ..no matter what you try to do to get things moving alone. If the baby is not ready or your body is not ready ..It doesn't matter what is done.. I just look at it this way.. I can not be pregnant for more than 42 weeks! The Dr. won't allow it ..so the most time I have left to be prego is 2 wks MAX! I can handle that. As much as I do not want to.. My baby is still growing and maturing in there.. I do not want to interrupt that process. Good luck ..Hope all goes well for you!

Isn't it exciting waiting to see the baby you carried for so long.
Those tiny little hands and feet : )
ANYWAY to induce labour by old methods
-Have a bath with lavender oil
-long walk presses the baby down more on the cervix (causes backache though)
-A hot curry
- semen in sperm is Acidity and thins the cervix out more.
-stimulation of your nipples is meant to be the best to bring on labour.
If non of these work ,just hang on in there, not long now to go.
what a beautiful early Christmas present for you

Maybe your baby was meant to be born on a specific day for a reason, be patient not long to go, you have waited so far and you will be blessed, let nature happen naturally. Good luck
i have heard that caistor oil does a treat also.. but give it a couple more weeks maybe the baby has some more developing to do that you may disturb...

Honey, I'm sorry to tell you this but there is actually no natural way you can induce labour. Labour will only come if your cervix is ripe and the baby is ready to be delivered. Your doctor will tell you that you can try this or that, but there is no guarantees.

Sex... walking... nipple stimulation...
Good luck! Congratulations!
Just remember, baby does come when he/she is ready.
Don't use the castor oil method that some might suggest. That only makes you have severe cramping and could cause baby to go into distress.

I have had 3 babies and the last 2 were overdue and i used castor oil with huge success.
I think an hour total in labour was worth the runs!!!!!
I did it again with my next baby and had a quick labour also.

from personal experience i used walking and rosemary tea and caster oil i woould not recomend caster oil as it can cause bowel contractions as well as bringing on labor( and they are not nice). unfortunatly i would recomend natural is the way to go.
