The masses might but the Lord outright condemns the practice. It was for this very reason the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah along with all their people. Christians are not surprised at the growing trend as the bible states that in the last days this would become rife and He (the Lord) would give them over to a reprobate mind to do those things which are convenient for them to do. The old excuse that "I was born that way" doesn't hold water with God as people will always blame Him for their own unwise choices. Homosexuality is a series of conscious choices on the part of the individual and they are therefor accountable to the Lord on the day of judgment.

in ancient times, before the rise to dominance of monotheistic religions, homosexuality was not considered a deviation, warriors who stayed away from home had "boys" who helped in fighting but were also bed mates of the men.
so with the slow decline in the effect Religion is having on everyday life, no wonder homosexuality becomes acceptable again.

There's still HoPe if we are willing to try very hard and change the minds of people. Teach them to be more accepting and that its normal to find homosexual people.
