First off is that you need a motherboard with a Nvidia Chipset like the 590, 650i, 680i. Then 2 pci express slots. Then you need the SLI bridge which connects the 2 cards together. Then you need a hefty power suppply for it. Im thinking around 650 watts for more.

Any other chipset wont sork with SLI

You'll have a little 3 inch x 1 inch circuit board between the 2 PCI-express 16 slots. Remove this and insert the sli-bridge which should have came with your motherboard. After you do this and restart your computer than it should run.

Prolly a million 8600GT will do you for awhile. Get one with extreme ram and good midsection clock speed. I really have 2 7900GS XFX Xtremes and its no longer really adequate for me. If I were you, get the 8800GTX 768mb and sli it later on (searching on how complicated midsection gamer your on.) merely get something that's Direct X 10 for the destiny.
