Boiling water, Cucumber peels (dependant on what type of ants you have, I think it works better on black ants), Talcom powder.
Borax (not sure of spelling), Mortein Surface spray, Ant Powder.

We have the out side problem and they are building sand dunes in between our pavers. We use Ant Powder, but they keep on coming up some where else. If you don't mind talcom powder near your doors and any where that they are coming in that works quite well.

Here's a simple and all natural solution...BEER OR SUGAR WATER!! Take the lids from food jars (such as mayo and peanut butter..wash and dry them...fill half way with beer (any kind will do) and sit on your countertops, floor or where ever else you have a problem ...the smell makes them flee!!! The sugar water will attract them to the lids where they will fall in and drown...you choose the method..I've used both and they both work well. Same method works with fleas...only use soapy water and place the kids under nightlights that have been placed into baseboard outlets...light attracts them and they drown in the soapy water !!!

This worked for me...I'm a wedding cake decorator and I discovered the little buggers after coming back home one day to work on a half finished wedding cake that was sitting on my counter and found the entire cake FILLED with the little things...needless to say I had to stay for two days to complete the cake in time for the wedding!!

Good luck to you!!
