Every human builds their own ego boundary at the end of infancy. This is required before logical thought and language can be learned.

A strong and healthy ego leads to confidence and the ability to accept oneself which, in turn, helps the individual during the formation of human relationships. Damaged egos seldom form healthy relationships.

The more esoterically inclined also state that a strong and healthy ego is the easiest to transcend.

What a misunderstood concept first of all by so many of us.

Sometimes many of us use the term unconsciously without qualifying what we say, virtually we all do this. We do the same with the word "attitude": everyone has an attitude; only that we don't properly qualify what we mean when we say it. In both cases, we unconsciously or not imply nuance, that which is of a darker nature, though actually both concepts and words are neutral, when again we should preface either with the meaningful descriptive to give context to what we mean to say; otherwise all that we resolve to are but series of turns on infinitives.

A healthy and strong ego will not say and do what it means without carrying to mean what it does and says, while the infirm ego imparts only emptiness or falls to emptiness.

Ego is simply a sense of the self, essential to survival and growth, regardless of the supposed categories too often given it as got up by the mind scholars in the institutes, for little is the nature of it made clear to the lay person who should be the very one who understands it well and most of all, in all its qualities and ways.

A balanced ego is vital for living in any world constituted with coarseness and those properties featuring opposites of any kind, which these aspects of any kind are integral to the Fabric of that same world. One must have a confident sense of self to move and create in anywhere of that same constructed likeness. Therefore, ego does have that quality that must be kept tame, for it is a wild neutrality indeed, often unbridled, which can be daunting to the untrained mind.

An out-of-balance ego, surely, can maim a world and can become vain when it is interrupted in its journey unless it can be given tasks to do by direction of the high aspect of the individual. The ego that can do this or is made to do this and thereby defers to such direction can be said a strong and healthy ego; and one that cannot, a weak and infirm one, which qualities evidence commonly in despots and tyrants, who are given to slyness and deception and above all, a voracity for obtaining and holding power; and this, to not good ends. A strong and healthy ego can garner a smile in the infant.

When speaking of the ego, the id, and the superego, the factor of the personality should not be left out. It reigns just above the id and is often used as a mask or tool for the selfish desires of the id and/or ego. A healthy ego is one that has no personality expression, which is just a creation, kind of like a tumor, on the soul's expression. The personality has to be sacrificed, as well as the id, in order to experience true religion and spiritual life; to experience the height of the perfected superego/soul. A weak and unhealthy ego will be prone to experiencing emotion rather than pure will, emotion rather than pure striving for spiritual progress, and emotion rather than complete submission to God. The weak ego can likely be a symptom that the personality has not yet been sacrificed, which will take up space in the discovery of God, as well as a symptom that desires of the id, or even of the ego (as in not giving everything to the poor, having desires for this or that rather than allowing the soul to express itself). The personality should be an expression of the soul, with no selfish desires. Then the personality is the soul, and the id and ego of a person no longer exist. Just the soul as superego. Superego being the ethical person, with no desire or selfishness in the way between the person and God.

Ego in general is our consciousness of your own identity. Most often we are proud of our own performance and also feel superior compared to our other colleagues or friends. This ego is directly or indirectly responsible for the development of self esteem. Ego has been considered as a negative feature by most of them which is not true. A man without ego is as good as dead. Hence shaping up the ego in a healthy manner is vital key for success.

With a healthy ego, we will able to become strong, confident, loving, valuable & best contributing members of society, both at work and in relationships. It circulates peace & happiness within us and around us. It will contribute for a better world for all of us to live.

The ego is unalterably a part of us, and we have consciousness of it. When it is ailing, we ail. When it is strong, we are strong. When we are challenged in life, the strength of the ego will defend us to the best of our ability to understand what the ego has to offer.

Ego helps to develop self confidence. But it has to be inside a transparent wall so that it does allow you to mix with others.

If we had a crappy ego we would never get the self-esteem and confidence to do anything good for this world. And then we would never move forwards in history.

Definitely, a healthy ego is good, it allows you to assert yourself but it must be tempered with good judgement.

Ego is anti Spirit. It usurps the authorship of Spirit and becomes the "false" doer!
