Front page headlines that have absolutely NO SUBSTANCE.
It is alleged that the private investigators paid for by the Madeleine "fund" have "found" a kidnapped American girl safe and well. What a load of baloney. Reading the article we then learn that all that has happened is that they have become aware of an English speaking girl "possibly" American, who lives in Morrocco with a Morroccon family. There is NO PROOF thet she has been kidnapped at all. How on earth is this headline justified. It is just so much spin. Meanwhile Gerry enjoys a round of golf on his local golf course before preparing to return to work with a police guard like the celebrity he thinks he is. Paid for by the British taxpayer. When oh when is the Madeleine "pay the mortgage" fund going to be frozen. Golf is an expensive hobby, as they now have "no income", I presume the Madeleine "pay the mortgage" fund is paying for that as well.

My question is this. Is this headline justified and where is the evidence that this American girl was kidnapped?

Neuro linguisitic programming by the British press, Clarence Mitchell and the Metodo 3.
The news is not news and therefore sensationalist reporting the fogs the issue and detracts from the parents...keeping the fund legitimate....sickening

I read that story too, I think it was in the Daily Telegraph or the Liverpool Echo (I read one after the other so I can't remember). But it does seem odd for an American child to be living with a Moroccan family. They could have adopted her I suppose, presuming they were rich enough. But the article, if I remember rightly, didn't mention anything along the lines of 'Oh yeah, the family were well off, so she was probably adopted'.

I agree with Little weed, more spin to detract from the fact the "Find Madeleine Fund" has been used to pay the McCanns mortgage.

Firstly, it matters not a jot what any of us here think.
That said, I’m not sure what your point is. I have read the article that you linked and it looks reasonable to me. It explains how the Portuguese police together with other Iberian specialist agencies will concentrate on the possibility that the child may still be alive, albeit in terrible circumstances as the victim of a paedophile gang.
Surely, even you cannot object to that being a reasonable objective?
If the Portuguese police had anything like the evidence that you believe you have to support your theory that the parents did it (and I’m assuming that this is your considered opinion), they would surely by now have arrested and charged them. They clearly haven't done that, and are instead exhausting the other options that might lead to a more positive outcome.
Whatever happens, the McCann’s will still be around for years to come and they can be charged at any time. There is no need to hurry.
So ask yourself this. Is it preferable to expend effort on finding the child alive (albeit having endured some unspeakable experiences) or to dedicate time and effort to an ill considered trial of the parents that would almost certainly result in an acquittal due to an inability to support claims of their guilt?
I truly hope that your real objection isn't to the fact that someone of whom you have a prejudiced opinion remains at liberty. If that is the case, then you – and others like you, need to ask yourself if that is a civilised outlook consistent with the British tradition of even handedness and fair play.

If investigators come across any situation where they can potentialy save a child from abuse, whether it is still to be ascertained or not, the fact is you can not ignore the situation and merry on about your way simply because the child is not Madeline. I can not imagine anyone with any "SUBSTANCE" begrudging the investigators passing this information on to Interpol as a bonus to the Madeline fund.
Perhaps you should stop reading the Daily Mail if you are looking for quality journalism...
As for Gerry playing golf - it is now you who is wildly speculating as to who paid for the rounds! For all you know it was paid for by a friend or family. The McCanns have had a horrendous 6 months and the very least thing they can do in order to try to keep sanity and regain any glimmer of a normal life is a few piddly rounds of golf.

Do you have proof she wasn't kidnapped?
What on earth would an American speaking blonde child be doing with a Moroccon family up the mountains?
Regarding the fund paying for the mortgage. Perhaps you should go read the terms of the fund. It has been put in place to assist the McCanns in whatever way, during the hunt for their daughter. Would you prefer the McCanns and twins house to be repossessed & to have your miserly donation back? You can ask for it you know. Just email the website.
*edit. I assume you did donate and that is the reason for your complaint & rant?
lol.. the more I read your posts the easier it is to spot your jealousy. Are you skint love? Sounds like it.

I think some of your questioning is very valid - I too have read about the paying of the mortgage thing - and in all honesty - that to me is theft - plainly and simply!! - that fund is there to help find maddie and nothing else!!
As for the american newspapers, well, ours are bad enough, so I would have expected nothing less than complete rubbish from the US!

Not justified and no evidence, nearly forgot, the first thing you do on hearing your missing daughter may be alive in a foreign country is reach for the golf clubs, no scouring the Moroccan mountains for Gerry, there's priorities to be observed here you know? Anyway most of the Great British public are either too stupid or gullible to care what the McCanns do are they not?
