For classical training:
The Juilliard School in NYC

For pop and modern:
Berklee College of Music in Boston

to "be in plays" while you sing is not "music", it's "musical theater" and different than "be in a band" - different sort of training...

The best musical theater would be (arguably) University of Michigan though that field hasn't produced a far out front leader as classical and pop have.
