To be particularly honest, I think that many people search their whole lives trying to find the 'meaning' of it. However, I am with you, I do not understand why we would want to find out why, but we should just take our lives as it comes to us and if we have a meaning, we must be at least achieving it being on this earth. If that makes sense

If one knows the meaning of a process, one knows the telic or dynamic, therefore one acts more harmoniously and effectively. It's like having the answer to an essay question, e.g. "The British Empire organized the colonial world, bringing better roads, a more lawful oversight of commerce, etc." With the answer, one can act/write more truthfully.
The Kingdom is within, books like "Climb the Highest Mountain," Mark Prophet, "The Path of Virtue," Jonathan Murro, and "Man, Master of His Destiny," O. M. Aivanhov are able to provide some perspective in modern terms, as are authors like Martha Beck ("Expecting Adam," a great book), C. S. Lewis ("The Great Divorce"), and "The Reincarnation of Edgar Cayce?", Free and Wilcock.
cordially,

Because they are not happy with their lives. If they only read the Bible all these rather simple questions would be answered. People tend to become stiffnecked when it comes to truth. They are not happy with their lives yet insist on denying the cold hard facts slapping them in the face! Maybe it's a defensive tactic, to maintain their pride or ego or maybe shame. Whatever the reason, a closed heart will always go out of the way to avoid simple solutions to problems.

I think we want to find the meaning of life so that our lives are not empty. So that we feel like there is a reason for us to be alive. So that we feel we are growing, that we are contributing to society, so we are being enriched. But mainly so we have a reason to live. Living for livings sake doesn't work for me.

because you only get one life on earth. everyone is guaranteed to die. most people dont feel like they are accomplishing anything in their day-to-day lives so they try to find "meaning". i think people should just do what makes them happy (within reason). in the end, it doesn't matter how much money you have or what you've accomplished.

simply because there's no meaning of life. the best way to describe it is living... and what do we know about living? we have our own words right?
there's no meaning of life, it is probably a gift.

It is implanted in our human nature that our lives be worth living. Asking about meaning is asking about purpose because purpose gives meaning. Purpose also gives worth because things without purpose have no worth.
Our need for purpose and meaning and worth either come from evolution or from God. If from evolution, it is most ironic because evolution, a mindless natural process, cannot give purpose to anything.
If from God, then we can have real purpose. Many people think it connected with helping others.

Apparently, it is a requirement, you need it on your mental CV to be considered growing or grown.
Honestly, this is a question as deep as "What is the meaning of life."
Beyond me.

I have no idea.It must be the most asked question in Answers. The problem is they want the answer from people who are probably asking the very same question.I guess God is the only one who knows ,after all he created us.
